You’ll need to call to order a T430 backsplash. This is a “magnetic” (a magnet will stick to it) Type 430 stainless steel that is not as corrosion resistant as Type 304. The #4 brushed finish is the same as that used on many appliances. It also comes with a removable, protective PVC film on the finished side. Type 430 is great for applications where you might have spice holders or utensils with magnets on them and want to keep them at arms length. However, be aware it will be more susceptible to corrosion and rust than Type 304. For most backsplash applications the non-magnetic, #4 brushed finish is recommended

In a sleek, contemporary kitchen, texture can be the best way to add dramatic interest. In this space, designer Laure Antonetti Schutze of L. Antonetti Design chose a rich metallic basket weave for the area behind the cooktop. “Our client wanted a kitchen backsplash with a ‘wow’ factor,” she says. “We used a woven copper that’s not only beautiful but a conversation piece for the space.” Over time copper will naturally develop a rich patina; to maintain the original shine, apply sealant, as the designers did in this project.

The Linen finish actually has a pattern, but it’s so small that it gives the sheet a flat finish. This finish is excellent for those looking for a backsplash with absolutely no reflection or sheen. It’s also easy to clean, and the coloring will not change as dramatically as any of the other finishes. The Linen finish goes well with lighter kitchens.
